  • 1 Barcelona – tapas and paella See the city from La Sagrada Familia’s bell tower and share the moment of breathlessness as you step out astride two of the church’s spires. Take a minute to appreciate the view over the fabulous cityscape and the rolling green hills in the distance. Stroll along Port Vell, a gorgeous seafront walk, passing some of Barcelona’s most beautiful architecture – this walk is incredibly romantic at sunset. Tuck in to tapas, this is a massive part of the Catalan culture, and eat paella at a traditional Spanish restaurant. Soak in a traditional spa/bath-house set in historic underground wells at Aire de Barcelona, and end the day with some Flamenco – there are plenty of bars and clubs offering classes.
  • 2 Barcelona, sightseeing and attractions Barcelona is an artful experience. To get a feel for the city, stroll through the Rambla and the Gothic Quarter, and set aside a whole day to see Gaudi’s masterpieces all over the city – particularly the Temle Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia, Casa Mila, and Park Guell. Spend a day in theEixample seeing moderniste architecture and make time to browse throughBarcelona’s sophisticated shops and boutiques. There are so many wonderful restaurants tochoose from where you can try traditional Spanish dishes including patatas bravas, tortilla, and ensaladilla.
  • 3 Paella – cookery class and Cava trail Start your day with a walking tour around the famous Boqueria market where local chefs will give you plenty of tips on picking local and seasonal products. Back at the cookery school, continue your cooking experience and then taste the food you have prepared in a friendly and casual atmosphere. After lunch take the Cava Trail to row upon row of dusty vineyards, just 50km outside of Barcelona – the Penedes region that produces 90% of allCatalan champagne known as cava. Return to Barcelona for a romantic meal in the city centre.
  • 4 Sitges, attractions and sightseeing Sitges is a beautiful coatal town with romance at its heart. Visit the Museu Romantic that’s housed in a grant 18th century building in the heart of Sitges. It is full of romantic exhibits including a famous collection of dolls. See romantic maritime works of art at the Museu Maricel – this is a private collection of a famous doctor who had a passion for collecting maritimeart. Sitges is crammed full of places to eat so head down to the waterfront for a romantic paella dinner for two. Take a walk along the sparkling beaches of Costa Dorada, also known as the Golden Coast.
  • 5 Sitges, attractions and sightseeing Sitges is filled with historic buildings dating from medieval times. Take a romantic walk around the city and see some of the amazing Gothic revival buildings and older structures including the 16th century Cau Ferrat Museum that houses works by Picasso and El Greco as well as the world’s largest collection of wrought iron. Nightlife in Sitges is among the best in Spain, and the city’s open air cafes are open late at night for pre-clubbing drinks. So, relax, enjoy and soak up the atmosphere of this beautiful Spanish city.
  • 6 Marseille – attractions and sightseeing Blessed with the superb landscapes of the Provence-Alps and the Côte d'Azur, Marseille is the perfect setting for a romantic escape. You can lose yourself in its beautiful gardens, go back in time in the Vieux Port, take a cruise on the Mediterranean, let yourselves pampered by some of the world's best spas, and enjoy fine French cuisine, and much more. Taste delicious dishes from the city’s world-famous boillabaisse to enticing Provencal bistro fare, fragrant soups, and that include ingredients so at the heart of the French Mediterranean diet including olive oil, garlic, fennel, artichokes, olives, basil, thyme and rosemary.
  • 7 & 8 Provence – attractions and sightseeing Head off in to Provence for some of the best wine-tasting experiences in the world. Provence spans several very different winemaking regions – you won’t have time to cover the whole region, two days is just enough to sample a taster. If you can, start in Toulon and head down to Saint –Tropez across the vineyards that cling to the edge of the Mediterranean, and then turn inland through classic Provencal landscapes of lavender fields and olive groves in to the wild countryside of the Massif des Maures. Stop at village bistros along the way – they serve delicious dishes of Provencal cuisine.
  • 9&10 Nice, attractions and sightseeing Everyone loves Nice with its year-round sunshine and universal appeal. Take a two-hour Vieux Nice Baroque Tour or a themed tour such as art deco, neoclassical and belle-epoque Nice, and learn much more about the history and culture of this popular destination. Visit the Musee Matisse, about 2km north of the centre, and enjoy the fascinating assortment of works by Matisse. Hop on board the Train des Pignes that chugs between the mountains and the sea and is one of Provence’s most picturesque rides. It rises to 100km, with breathtaking views out to see. Head down to the Plage Publique des Ponchettes, Nice’s most popular beach, and swim in the warm clear blue Mediterranean sea. Try out one of Nice’s fabulous restaurant – La Table Alziari is run by the grandson of the famous Alziari olive oil family, and the day’s menu is always chalked on a blackboard.
