The Matterhorn Glacier Paradise is the icing on the cake as far as views are concerned. Ride Europe’s highest-altitude cable car up 3883m and gawp at a top-of-the-beanstalk panorama of 14 glaciers and 38 mountain peaks.

Cultural cities and mountain splendour

The Matterorn is hypnotic. It rises above Zermatt as a beautiful mountain and varies in colour depending on the time of day, frompretty and pink, to dark and mysterious.

See some of the world’s greatest art at the Louvre, including the Mona Lisa and Winged Victory.

Queue with the masses to visit the Sistine Chapel and the rest of the massive Musei Vaticani.

  • 1 Paris – illuminations Paris is the ‘city of light’ and love. Witness the city at night when it comes to life and relax in to the vibe of the city – eat, shop, and spend the afternoon romantically strolling from district to district, from café to café. If time today, see some of the world’s greatest art at the Louvre, including the Mona Lisa and the Winged Victory.
  • 2 Paris – sightseeing – Eiffel Tower Climb to the top of Arc de Triomphe for some of the best views of the city, or take the elevator up the Eiffel Tower. Visit the great cathedral of Notre-Dame, which sits along the banks of the Seine. Eat well at a five-star restaurant or a humble bistro, and take time to window shop along the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore.
  • 3 Paris – Versailles Visit the most famous jewel of France, Versailles Castle, well known as the Sun King's Estate. The palace of Versailles is one of the most visited French monument because of its architecture, its gardens and also because of its history. Located in the prosperous, leafy and bourgeoissuburb of Versailles, just outside Paris, the baroque chateau was the kingdom’s political capital and the seat of the royal court from 1682 until 1789.
  • 4 Paris – Geneva – lake cruise, sightseeing Board the high-speed TGV train from Paris to Geneva, asuper, sleek and cosmopolitan European city. Located around the sparkling shores of Europe’s largest alpine lake, Lake Geneva, this international city is overloaded with jewellers, chocolate shops, and exquisite shops and restaurants. See the symbol of Geneva, the Jet d’Eau, a fountain with a 140m water jet set in the lake itself, take a photo at the large Flower Clock – a symbol of the Geneva watch industry, and see the best of the city on a two-hour city sightseeing tour. Discover the natural beauty of Lake Geneva on a lake cruise – admire tiny Swiss towns, terraced vineyards, storybook castles and ancient cathedrals.
  • 5 Geneva – Castle Chillon Castle Chillon is undoubtedly the prettiest Swiss castle and looks like something out of a fairytale fantasy. It sits on a rocky islet along the shores of Lake Geneva near the border of Switzerland France and has foundations from back in Roman times. Explore inside the castle and see the Courtyard of Honour, the battlements and fortifications, and the infamous damp and dark dungeons.
  • 6 Geneva – Zermatt On the way to Zermatt in the Valis region, relax in Lavey-les-Bains, a renowned thermal spa and medical centre located in the Rhone Valley. Arrive at Zermatt and get your cameras ready for the most spectacular visual feast of 38 alpine peaks of Italy, France and Switzerland. The Matterhornis hypnotic! Visit the Matterhorn Museum, a state-of-the-art museum that provides a fascinating insight into Valaisian village life, mountaineeringand the dawn of tourism in Zermatt.
  • 7 Zermatt – Klein Matterhorn Take Europe’s highest cogwheel railway that climbs through picture-postcard scenery to Gornergrat. Sit on the right-hand side ofthe little red train to gawp at Matterhorn. And then ascend the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise by Europe’s highest cable car and enter the enchanting Glacier Palacelocated 15m under the glacier and admire the beautiful ice sculptures.
  • 8 Zermatt – Milan Drive through one of the longest road tunnels, the St. Gottard Tunnel, and on to Milan, the fashion and financial capital of Italy. In the afternoon, join a city tour of the Gothic Cathedral, and see the glass and steel Galleria - the first building in Italy to be lit by electricity. And stroll through the compound of the Sforza Castle and be impressed by Leonardo Da Vinci’s design of this impressive fortress.
  • 9 Milan – sightseeing and attractions Make a beeline for Leonardo’s damaged but still movingLast Supper in the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Visit the Brera museum, home to masterpieces by Mantegna, Raphael, and Piero della Francesca, and don’t miss the exquisite Duomo in all its Gothic splendour.
  • 10 & 11 Venice, sightseeing and attractions On to Venice, famous for its numerous churches, its maze of canals andromantic floating gondolas. From Tronchetto, board aprivate water taxi to Venice, and take a walking tour to see St. Mark’s Square, the Bridge of Sighs and the Doges Palace. Visit one of the fine Venetianglass blowing factories where you will see richly coloured Venetian glass being made in to exquisite pieces of art.
  • 12 & 13 Florence, Pisa Be charmed by a landscape dotted with Romanesque churches and farmhouses as you drive to Tuscany, and Florence – the birthplace of enaissance Art. Make a stop at Piazza Michelangelo for a panoramic view of theOld Town. Take a guided walking tour of the city – admire Brunelleschi’s masterpiece, the dome of the Duomo, as well as Ghiberti’s legendary Door of Paradise. Cross the Ponte Vecchio that glitters with its rolls of jewellery stores before moving on to the most important square in the city – the Piazza Signoria. After lunch, we go to the coastal town of Pisa. Visit the Square of Miracles and see the wonderful artistry of one of the wonders of te world – the leaning Tower of Pisa. Admire the white marble Duomo, and the elaborate Baptistery and the symmetrical Monumental Cemetery that are perfectly framed by the green lawns of the square.
  • 13-15 Rome, sightseeing and attractions Arrive in the ‘eternal city’ Rome. Take a Vatican City guided tour and visit the world’s smallest state, the Vatican City. Admire St. Peter’s Basilica, the world’s largest church with Michelangelo’s Pieta – his magnificentdome, as well as Bernini’s famous canopy and the incredible mosaics. Visit the Colosseum and the Roman Forum before continuing on to view the Castle of Angels, the Victor Emmanuel II Monument, and the Venezia Palace. Take photographs at the Trevi Fountain – Rome’s most photographed landmark before heading on to the famous Spanish Steps.
