Starting from the shores of the beautiful Jerisjarvi Lake in western Finland this is eight days of pure adrenalin heaven. From hiking tours on Lapland fjells and paddles on the lake, to biking around lakes in lush green national parks and saunas on the leafy lake land shores, immerse yourself in Lappish life and nature with this action-packed tour.

As well as getting active in Lapland’s nature wonderland, you will learn all about life then and now from local Lappish people, and will end each day with a soothing lakeside swim and sauna, followed by a delicious alfresco dinner.

Hiking, biking, canoeing, trekking

The Palas-Yllastunturi National Park is Finland’s third largest national park with a 55km trekking route from Hetta to Pallastunturi.

Flora and fauna are abundant in this national park– watch the multimedia show at the Park’s visitor centre.

Canoeing is a great way of getting around western Finland. Paddle on peaceful clean water lakes and wild wilderness rivers.

  • Day 1 – 8 Daily activity trips from the shores of Jerisjarvi Lake.
  • Days Details
  • 1 Canoeing and paddling Daily trips from the shores of the lake to the surrounding fjells, forests, lakes and rivers will take you through national parks, areas of outstanding natural beauty, and past traditional Lapp landmarks and signposts. Canoeing trips take paddling to another dimension. Paddle through peaceful lakes surrounded by majestic fells, along wild river stretches of unharnessed waters, and flowing river stretches past flora and fauna. Led by experienced guides and paddling in Indian canoes, paddle to historic Fishermen’s huts of Keimioniemi and hear stories about the huts and their owners. Take a sauna and enjoy dinner with the local Lapps.
  • 2 Trekking and biking Trek or mountain bike through forests, swamps, over treeless fjells, sand roads and paths. There are marked routes and trails, or go with an experienced guide for an in-depth trek.
  • 3 Getting to know the Lapps Walk to a reindeer farm and learn about the reindeer herding and the life of the Lappish people. Enjoy cooking with these locals and grilling local specialities over an open fire. Throughout the week a guide will keep you well-informed about the customs and traditions from this part of Lapland. So, when it’s time to leave, you will know all about autumn colours, the midnight sun, fruits from the forest, and everything about the local nature and history.
  • 4 Fishing Lake Jerisjarvi is rich in fish and very clean. Set up your rod for the day for some perch or trout, and enjoy swimming in these fresh, clean waters. And enjoy a relaxing sauna at the end of each day.
  • 5 Fall colours in Finland The autumn colours turn into a magnificent mix of browns, reds and yellow, and the nature around this area of Finland can have a magical impact on mind and body. Head out to conquer Keimiontunturi, the southernmost fell in the Pallas-Ounas range. It rises to a height of 610m. After taking in the view, time to refuel by cooking lunch on a portable stove, taking lots of photos of the autumn colours, and then heading back to the cabins.
  • 6 Paddle to Rauhala Back to an adventurous day’s paddling to a little village called Rauhala. Canoe through fells and small islands, and stop forlunch over an open fire on the shores of the Lake. On to Rauhala for a sauna, delicious campfire dinner, and an overnight stay.
  • 7 Crossing Lake Jerisjarvi A full-on morning’s paddle towards the other end of Lake jerisjarvi. Walking over a small land area we reach Lake Akasjarvi and take a gentle canoe across the lake to Akasjoki. Enjoy lunch on the lakeshore and visit the historical watermill at Akasjoki. Enjoy gentle paddling around the waters followed by dinner on the lakeshore over an open fire. Overnight at Akasjoki.
  • 8 Depart for Kitilla airport

Early Summer starting May is Pleasant and summer is from June to September when you can enjoy warm weather , Outdoor activities , & the Midnight sun .
