Venice has to be seen to be believed. It is an engineering marvel, with marble churches built atop ancient posts driven into the mud banks, a canal system that laps up to doorsteps, artistic masterpieces of the world, and some of the most beautiful architecture that you will ever see.

  • 1&2 Geneva, sightseeing and attractions Geneva is a hub of diplomacy, shopping and business. Check out the Water Jet – it is Europe’s tallest fountain, spouting nearly 400 feet in to the air every second. At the International Museum of the Reformation and the Wall of the Reformers, you can trace the logic and history behind the Protestant Reformation, and learn about its key players. Explore the parkland in Geneva’s right bank, which provides the best views for seeing nearby Mont Blanc – the mountain is the tallest in Europe.
  • 3&4 Zermatt, sightseeing and attractions Zermatt’s main attraction is the Matterhorn. Whether you choose to try and climb the peak yourself or simply take photos, it looms over everything here. Zermatt is a car-free town and easy to explore. Visit the Matterhorn Museum for lots more information about the famed mountain. And St.Peter’s Church was built for English climbers seized by the desire to conquer the Matterhorn – there’s also a cemetery for those who didn’t make it. Why not bike the trails surrounding Zermatt – about 24km of downhill tracks have been specifically set aside for the activity.
  • 5-7 Milan and Lake Como Milan is full of sophisticated pleasures and indulgences. Check out Italy’s fashion capital where, in the city’s boutiques, designers show off their latest creations. Visit the wonderful historical treasures of the city including the giant Gothic cathedral in the heart of the city centre, and the rich and varied collection of art and museums, and see Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘Last Supper’ at the Triennale. On to Lake Como where beautiful villa gardens are reflected in the azure of a glacial lake. Take the ferry to pristine villages nestled along the lakeshore and see lush gardens and elegant villas. Learn about silk production from the area that produces almost three quarters of Europe’s supply, and, if you’re feeling energetic, swim, hike, or even wind surf in Europe’s deepest lake.
  • 7-9 Tuscany, sightseeing and attractions Spend two days in beautiful Tuscany with its wonderful diverse landscapes and incredible rich history and cultural heritage. Cypress trees, vineyards, and rolling hills characterize this gorgeous region of central Italy.Wine and olive oil have been produced here for centuries. Visit Pisa’s LeaningTower that has been marveled at for centuries. Nearby is Lucca with an exquisite Duomo that has an ornate façade strewn with colonettes and contains a haunting, beautifully sculpted tomb by Jacopo della Quercia. On the way to Venice, stop at Padua and stroll through its medieval marketplaces, and call inat Verona where Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, captured the city’s atmosphere of romance and drama.
  • 9-11 Venice, sightseeing and attractions Arrive at Venice. Take a guided walking tour of Venice and admire the most famous squares, bridges and narrow streets. Be enchanted as you wander through Venice's picturesque cobblestone alleyways admiring the world's most romantic city. Next, board a gondola and take a 35-minute ride along the world-famous Grand Canal to the Ponte di Rialto (Rialto Bridge), the first bridge to be built over the Grand Canal. Overnight at the hotel. From Tronchetto, board a private water taxi to Venice,and take a walking tour to see St. Mark’s Square, the Bridge of Sighs and the Doges Palace. Visit one of the fine Venetian glass blowing factories where you willsee richly coloured Venetian glass being made in to exquisite pieces of art.
  • 11&12 Innsbruck, sightseeing and attractions Arrive at Innsbruck, and almost at every corner you turn you will see spectacular views of the Nordkette Alps, the city’s natural skyscrapers. This is the Tyrolean capital of Austria where urban meets outdoors. Enjoy aride on the space-age funicular that speed you from the centre to alpine pastures and the peaceful sound of clanging cowbells. Browse Old Master paintings in the Hofburg, Maximilian 1’s 15thcentury palace, and go for the Gold at Innsbruck’s famed Golden Roof. The town is small and compact enough to make it a memorable and easy-to-explore destination.
  • 12-14 Salzburg, sightseeing and attractions On To Salzburg, and home to Mozart. Standing beside the fast-flowing Salzach River, simply look up and be awe-inspired by the city’s wonderful backdrop of graceful domes and spires, the formidable cliff-top fortress, and the mountains beyond – pure romance and inspiration. Wander through the Unesco-listed Old Town drifting from one baroque church and monumentalsquare to the next, in a daze of grandeur. Meander the side streets too where classical music wafts from open windows, linger decadently over coffee and cake, and let Salzburg work its magic. Be overwhelmed by the Dom Cathedral with its bulbous copper dome and twin spires – a masterpiece of baroque art. Visit the Salzburg Museum housed in the baroque Neue Residenz palace and take a fascinating trip through Salzburg’s past. Learn all about Mozart and his family at the Mozart-Wohnhaus museum where the family lived and where Mozart composed works suchas the Shepherd King. And take an original ‘Sound of Music Tour’. Enjoy a day trip visiting the breathtaking landscapes and locations where the famous musical was filmed. The guide will show highlights of the film and also the historical and architectural landmarks in the town of Mondsee, as well as part of thepicturesque lake district. Relax and listen to the soundtrack on the way or sing along to the famous songs and lyrics as you travel through the hills and past the lakes.
  • 15 Vienna, sightseeing and attractions Take a walk around the Inner Start, Vienna’s medieval heart, it’s an ideal way to spend a morning or an afternoon. Explore the twisting streets, it’s here that you’ll find the iconic 10thcentury Stefansdom Cathedral and the shops that line the pedestrian-only Graben. Stop at one of the many restaurants and coffee houses for a coffee and pastry – they are centerpieces ofthe culture here, in fact, sample them at Café Central, one of the city’s most famous coffeehouses The Ringstrasse, a grand circular boulevard built in the late 19thcentury, surrounds Innere Stadt. Here you will find Vienna’s most famous sights, including the MuseumsQuartier complex, the Rathaus (OldCity Hall), and the Staatsoper (State Opera House). Take a scenic look at Vienna on the Ring Tram, it’s a continuous hop-on, hop-off guided tour ofthe Ringstrasse with video screens and commentary that stops at 13 stations. A tour of Schloss Schonbrunn focuses on the palace itself – especially the Habsburg residents. Wander through the grand rooms and learn all about the habits and quirks of Austria’s famous family. Of the 1441rooms within the palace, 40 are open to the public. And nothing symbolises the culture and heritage of Austria more than its Hofburg (Imperial Palace). The Habsburgs were based here for over six centuries. You will be bowled over the size and architectural beauty and diversity of this palace that was added to over the centuries by the new rulers.
