The burial sites at Lindholm Hoje offer something for Viking enthusiasts of all ages. Or learn all about the city on a historical walking tour. Try some locally produced Aalborg schnapps. The onus here is on enjoying life and this is reflected in the city’s countless bars, gourmet restaurants and cafes. Head off into north Jutland from Aalborg, an ideal starting point for natural adventures. As well as the lookout tower at Lille Vildmose – ‘little bog on the heath’ – where you can spot golden eagles and red deer, try canoeing on the Aalborg Coast, go fishing in Limfjorden, tee off at one of the breezy coast golf courses, or explore the wonderful green area on foot or by bike.
  • 4&5 Copenhagen See Copenhagen on foot, the city is small and compact. Take a walking tour around the Amalienborg Palace district an elegant quarter featuring 18th century buildings. In the historic centre, view the 17th century Stock Exchange, the Christiansborg Palace and the Neo-Classical Cathedral. Take in the Little Mermaid – the statue inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s sad fairytale sitting on a rock in the harbour. • 6-9 Bergen & the Fjords Arrive in the historic medieval ‘wooden’ coastal city of Bergen, ‘gateway to the fjords’, and home to the Hanseatic Wharf at Bryggen. Spring in Denmark & Norway usually brings bright sunlight and cloudless skies

The best time to visit Denmark & Norway is during the summer months of June, July and August, when the climate is warm and the blossoming landscape at its prettiest, and when travel season is in full swing .

Autumn can also be a good time to visit, with the falling leaves providing a gorgeous golden show – though bear in mind that the coastal waters can get chilly as early as September, and that most sights and attractions maintain reduced hours outside of high season, from mid-September onwards.

Denmark’s winters are decidedly less severe than those of its northerly Scandinavian neighbours.

However the Northern Lights Spectacle is a once in a life time experience which should not be missed .
